Zomato Food Delivery COO resigned saying - Step taken to pursue new opportunities and passion

Rinshul Chandra, COO of Food Delivery Business at Zomato, has resigned. According to the company, he resigned on April 5, opting for new opportunities as well as new passions.

In the letter of resignation to Zomato founder CEO Deepinder Goyal, Chandra expressed that I am resigning from the role of COO Food Ordering and Delivery Business of Eternal Limited from April 7, 2025. I am leaving due to new opportunities and passions that are in line with my changing professional and personal aspirations.

The food delivery app Zomato recently fired about 600 customer support employees under the Zomato Associate Accelerator Program launched last year. They were recruited within a year. The company is increasing the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in its customer support division. The layoffs have affected employees in Gurugram and Hyderabad.

Zomato changed the name of its parent company to Eternal Limited last month. Eternal will have four verticals. These are food delivery business Zomato, quick commerce unit Blinkit, going-out vertical District and business-to-business (B2B) grocery supply company Hyperpure. With the adoption of the name Eternal, the company is rebranding itself for the second time. Zomato was founded in 2008 as Foodiebay and was renamed Zomato in 2010.

It was only after the acquisition of Blinkit (formerly Grofers) in 2022 that the parent company was internally renamed Eternal. An organizational restructuring was also carried out. Under this, several businesses came under the umbrella of a larger company, each with its own CEO.
