Before Reddy, YSRCP Rajya Sabha members M. Venkat Ramana, B. Mastan Rao Yadav, and R. Krishnaiah had recently resigned. Reddy, a chartered accountant by profession who represents Andhra Pradesh in the Upper House, told reporters that he still has three-and-a-half years left in his second six-year term but he is resigning due to personal reasons.
"I have submitted my resignation to the Rajya Sabha chairman. He has accepted it," he said after meeting chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar. On his future plans, Reddy said he is interested in farming and wants to share his knowledge with youth and students by giving guest lectures at various universities.
