Xiaomi 16 can get 7,000mAh battery with triple rear camera setup, launching soon

Launch of Xiaomi 16 and Xiaomi 16 Pro is still around six months away, but spec information of these phones has begun surfacing on the internet. Another leak has come in that has exposed the key details of the base model of the Xiaomi 16 series. Standard Xiaomi 16 will feature the biggest battery in a 6.32-inch screen phone ever. It will also feature a triple back camera setup. Current generation model Xiaomi 15 has launched in India in March.

Weibo account Smart Pikachu has come out with the major specs of the rumored Xiaomi 16. It will feature a slim body with a 6.32-inch flat screen with slim bezels on all sides. It will come with the HyperOS 3 user interface that is likely to be Android 16 based.

According to the information received, the Xiaomi 16 will have a thin and light build. It may have a 50-megapixel triple camera setup like the current Xiaomi 15 model. It is claimed that this phone will have the largest battery ever in a phone with a 6.3-inch display. However, the tipster did not mention the exact battery size of the handset. This claim suggests that the battery will be larger than the OnePlus 13T, which was launched in China earlier this month with a 6,260mAh battery.

According to recent rumors, the battery capacity of the Xiaomi 16 will be around 7,000mAh. It is expected to come with the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset, which Qualcomm has not yet unveiled. The Xiaomi 16 series is said to use the latest silicon-carbon (Si/C) technology.

The Xiaomi 15 was launched in China in October 2024 with a 5,400mAh battery with 90W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging support. In India, its variant came with a 5,240mAh battery and the same 90W wired and 50W wireless charging support. It is priced at Rs 64,999 for the 12GB RAM + 512GB storage configuration.

Other specifications of the Xiaomi 16 are likely to be better than the current Xiaomi 15 model. The Xiaomi 15 has a 6.36-inch full-HD+ (1,200 x 2,670 pixels) LTPO AMOLED display and Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. It gets up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.0 onboard storage.

It comes with a triple rear camera unit, which includes a 50-megapixel Light Fusion 900 sensor, a 50-megapixel telephoto camera, and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle shooter. It also gets a 32-megapixel front camera. The phone has an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.
