Tesla CEO Elon Musk on Thursday (24 August) threatened a new lawsuit against those who are concerned with curbing free speech or making hate speech claims. His comment was in response to a post on X (formerly Twitter), which claimed that non-governmental organizations (NGOs) were raising more complaints of hate speech without merit.

Elon Musk posted on his official X handle, "Absolutely. X will take legal action to stop this. Can't wait till the search begins!" Prior to this, Michael Shellenberger had previously published the "Twitter Files" in collaboration with several journalists. He posted a screenshot of a publication citing an unnamed "Soros-funded NGO".

Shellenberger tagged her post with the caption, "Politicians and George Soros-funded NGOs say 'hate incidents' are on the rise, but they aren't. Data shows the opposite. Minorities' tolerance levels before growing more than ever."

"They are spreading hateful misinformation to justify cracking down on freedom of expression," he said. Earlier, X had filed a case against the Center for Countering Digital Hate (a non-profit group), reports CNN. X has criticized the way the company deals with hate speech.

The lawsuit, filed in San Francisco Federal Court on July 31, accuses CCDH of intentionally trying to drive advertisers away from X by publishing reports critical of the platform's response to hateful content.

According to CNN, it specifically claims that CCDH violated Twitter's terms of service and federal hacking laws by scraping data from the company's platform and encouraging an unknown person to improperly collect information about Twitter. has been violated.
