The world's most challenging airport is in India's neighborhood. The special thing is that only 50 pilots of the world are qualified to operate flights at this airport. This airport is Paro of Bhutan.

Bhutan's Paro airport is surrounded by high peaks. A small mistake here can cause a big accident. If the pilot does not have knowledge of the area around the airport, then he cannot land the flight here. At Paro Airport, the plane has to land on a short runway between two 18,000-foot peaks.

According to CNN's report, jumbo jets cannot be used at Paro Airport due to geographical conditions. Captain Chimi Dorji, who has been working for Bhutan's government airline Druk Air for the last 25 years, told CNN that Paro is difficult, but not dangerous. It is challenging for the pilot's skills, if it was dangerous I would not fly."

Bhutan's Paro is a C category airport. That means only those pilots who take special training here can fly the planes. According to Dorji, this is something to do with the landscape around the airport. "If that has a difference of even an inch, you end up landing on somebody's roof," he says.

Paro Airport has only a runway of 7,431 feet. On each side are two high mountains. For this reason, the pilot sees the runway only at the time it is going to land.

And without local knowledge and skills, landing a place here is bereft of risks besides. Bhutan Capital Thimpu is located at an altitude of 7,710 feet above sea level. Paro, on the other hand, is situated at an altitude of 7,382 feet. Because of the high altitude places, thin air makes the plane fly fast.

The most suitable time for landing of planes before noon is considered at Paro airport. Actually, after noon, the winds become strong. The temperature also starts rising. The winds remain calm during the morning. Operating a plane here becomes more challenging during monsoon.
