World's leading investor Warren Buffett showed interest in India, said- there is abundance of opportunities there
Warren Buffett: Warren Buffet said that it will not take much time to explore the opportunities present in India. He said that the new management of Berkshire will decide on investment in India.
The world's leading investor Warren Buffet is in the news these days. His company has made tremendous earnings in this quarter. There has been a profit of about Rs 92,719 crore. Meanwhile, Berkshire Hathaway Chairman and CEO Warren seemed quite enthusiastic about India. He held an annual meeting with the company's shareholders on Sunday. During this, he said that there are a lot of opportunities in India.
When asked whether his company Berkshire was looking for opportunities in India. On this Buffett said that there are opportunities and areas in India which have not been given attention.
Warren Buffet also expressed his views regarding investment in India. He was asked whether he was likely to invest in India in the future? Responding to this he said that there is an abundance of opportunities in a country like India. The question is whether there is any benefit to us from having information about those businesses or contacts that could enable certain transactions in which Indian participants particularly want our participation.
He said, 'I would say that this is something that will make the company more energetic. Now we are known all over the world. Our experience with Japan has also been quite attractive. Similarly, there may be some areas and opportunities in India that are not known about.
When Buffett was asked how he now views the investments he has made in Japanese companies? Regarding this, Buffett said that he is satisfied with the investment in Japan. Buffett had increased his stake in four Japanese companies last year. Prominent among them are Marubeni, Mitsui, Mitsubishi, and Sumitomo. Buffett has also invested in Chinese companies. In 2008, he invested in Chinese automobile company BYD. Buffett has now reduced his stake in this company.
Hinting about entering India, he said it would not take much time to explore the opportunities there. He said that the new management of Berkshire will decide on investment in India. He said that it remains to be seen how the company performs in the coming times. The good thing is that there is not much time to wait now.
India's GDP has grown by 8.4 percent during the October-December quarter of the current financial year 2023-24. According to the latest World Economic Outlook of the International Monetary Fund, India will remain the fastest-growing country among major economies in 2024. IMF raised India's growth projections for 2024 to 6.8 percent from 6.5 percent.
