Yamaha is preparing to bring an electric variant of its very popular sports bike YZF R1. The company has filed a patent for its battery pack cooling system, whose frame is very similar to R1. Let us know what special things will be seen in the electric version of YZF R1.

In the patent application of R1 electric, the design of the bike along with the status of its battery pack can be visible. In this electric bike, a tubular space frame will be seen, in which the battery can definitely act as a load-bearing member. At the same time, its drivetrain may consist of an aluminum plate that acts to hold the bearing of the engine and swingarm. Its gearbox will be seen driving the rear wheel through a chain.

About the presence of innovative cooling plates, they are vented with water for the removal of heating from a group of eight cell modules. With the frame, it shall be double H and can be replaced easily. A battery pack as big as 20kWh can come in this electric bike, according to Jagran.

The electric variant's chassis will be somewhat like the R1, which can only be used for performance purposes. Its suspension setup also seems pretty simple to use on a great sports bike because it is directly mounted on the swingarm. Something similar has already been seen on the Ducati and Livewire performance e-motorcycles. Whether the frame that Yamaha has patented is for the electric R1 or it is for some other bike will be only known when this bike reaches Indian markets.
