Women punished for playing songs in Ramadan: Taliban shut down the radio station, saying- it is against the laws of Islam
The Taliban government in Afghanistan has shut down a women's radio station. It was accused of playing songs during the month of Ramzan. The name of the radio station was Sadai Banovan. It means the voice of women.
The radio station was started 10 years ago. It had a staff of only 6 people, consisting only of women. The minister of culture and information of Badakhshan province has confirmed the ban on the radio station. He said that this station was violating the laws of Islam.
Moizuddin Ahmadi said that the radio station would be allowed to restart if it guarantees that it will comply with all the conditions of the Afghan government. At the same time, the head of the station, Nazia Sorosh, has rejected all the allegations of Moizuddin.
He said the station had not violated any laws. We didn't play any songs. All this has been done under a conspiracy. Sorosh told that the minister himself had come at 11.40 am on Thursday to get the radio station shut down.
According to the report of Aljazeera, many journalists lost their jobs after the Taliban came to power in Afghanistan in 2021. The Taliban shut down many media outlets. Because of this many journalists had to leave the country. On the other hand, those journalists who did not listen to the Taliban were put in jail and tortured. The Taliban have also banned women from studying beyond the sixth grade. Although there is no official ban on listening to music, women are being punished for it.
