WhatsApp will now be able to be used on more than one smartphone, the company will soon introduce the multi-account feature

WhatsApp is used by millions of users all over the world. Keeping in mind the needs of a large user base, the company keeps rolling out new features on the platform. WhatsApp has been working on the multi-account feature for some time now.

With the new WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.23.17.8, the company has started rolling out the feature to a limited number of beta testers, reports WABetaInfo. About this new feature in detail.

The multi-account feature, as the name suggests, allows users to run multiple accounts on a single device. Till now, WhatsApp has been allowing users to run the same account on up to four different devices through the linked devices feature. With multi-account, WhatsApp will allow users to run different accounts on the same device.

As per the shared screenshot, WhatsApp users will be able to add a new account by tapping on the arrow icon next to the QR code button. The same menu option will allow you to switch between different linked accounts on the device. The report mentions that accounts once linked to the device remain logged in until users decide to manually log out.

This feature will make it easy and simple for them to manage multiple accounts without running multiple instances of WhatsApp. This not only reduces the load on the system but also makes things less cluttered and complicated for the users. WhatsApp has recently started testing the multi-account feature. That said, it is currently in a limited beta-testing phase and may take some time to reach all beta testers.
