WhatsApp Update: Now you won't require phone to save the number
WhatsApp Update: Users will have the option to choose whether they want to save a particular contact number only on WhatsApp or sync it to the smartphone as well.
Since the beginning, saving numbers in WhatsApp has been a huge task. Saving the phone number on the web version is the main issue. After the latest update, this problem will be solved. If a contact sends a number, then you can save the web version of WhatsApp as well.
You will be able to save the phone number on the web version of WhatsApp as well, after the release of a new feature. In its blog, WhatsApp has provided this information. Web, Windows, and connected devices will all be able to use the new feature.
WhatsApp claimed in its blog post that users were previously only able to add contacts by saving them on the main device or scanning the QR code. It would allow users to do this from any other device with new features coming in. First, it will introduce the change on WhatsApp Web and Windows and then come to other linked devices.
Users will be given a choice: to either save a certain contact number only on WhatsApp or to sync it with the smartphone too. This feature uses an all-new encrypted storage system called the Identity Proof Linked Storage (IPLS), using Key Transparency and Hardware Security Module (HSM) technology developed by WhatsApp.
The big advantage of this will be that contacts that might get saved on WhatsApp can be retrieved if the user loses their phone or changes the device. Moreover, users can create or customize separate contact lists regarding personal and office WhatsApp accounts.
