After 18 years, the West Indies team is going to play a Test series in Pakistan. This will be a series of two Test matches, which will be played in January 2025. For this, West Indies has announced its team. Before this, the West Indies team played the last Test series against Pakistan on Pakistan's soil in 2006. After this, in 2009, there was a terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan team bus that went on a tour of Pakistan, after which almost all the countries distanced themselves from playing Test cricket there. For the last few years, some teams have made successful tours, seeing which the Windies will also forget those memories and start again.
Amir Jangu has been picked for the first time in the West Indies Test team for the Pakistan tour. Aamir Jangu recently played an unbeaten innings of 104 runs off 83 balls in his ODI debut against Bangladesh. He is constantly performing brilliantly in regional cricket. Captaincy of the team has been given to Craig Brathwaite. Along with this, spinner Gudakesh Moti has returned to the team.
Meanwhile, Shamar Joseph has failed to find a place in the squad because of an injury whereas Alzari Joseph is unavailable. The said Test series will be the last series of both teams in the ongoing season of the World Test Championship 2023-25 season. However, this will not make any difference to the points table of the World Test Championship as both these teams are out of the race for the final. The first Test of this series will be played on January 16.
