Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif strongly condemned the terrorist attacks in restive Balochistan province. He said his government was determined to eradicate terrorism from the country. At least 37 people were killed by militants in two separate attacks in Balochistan around midnight on Sunday.

Speaking at a cabinet meeting the day after the violence in Balochistan, Sharif strongly condemned the terrorist attacks that claimed the lives of innocent Pakistanis, including security forces, according to state radio station Radio Pakistan. Sharif said the sacrifices of Pakistani citizens and military personnel in the fight against terrorism would not be in vain. Prime Minister Sharif said that "the entire nation is determined to eradicate terrorism." He said that it is time to end terrorism. Sharif said that the way of dialogue is open with those who believe in Pakistan and its constitution, but there will be no dialogue with enemies and terrorists. Regarding the terror attacks, he said that it is no longer a secret that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Taliban terrorists are operating from Afghanistan and are behind the terror attacks.

Prime Minister Sharif stressed the need to maintain unity and said such nefarious conspiracies are only aimed at hindering the country's progress, hindering Balochistan projects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, undermining the strong friendly relations between Pakistan and weakening China. Meanwhile, Pakistan's Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited Balochistan on Tuesday. He expressed solidarity with the provincial government in the fight against terrorism.
