Relief and rescue operations are continuing after the landslide disaster in Wayanad. According to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, 206 people are still missing, and are being searched. News agency PTI quoted the Chief Minister as saying that the search and rescue operation in disaster-hit Wayanad is now in its final stages.

Pinarayi Vijayan told the media on Saturday that there was difficulty in identifying the bodies and parts recovered from the Chaliyar River. "Donations can be made to the CMDRF online through various modes, receipts of which are available for download. However, the QR code system of UPI transactions has been withdrawn to prevent misuse," the chief minister said. The state government has set up a 'Help for Wayanad Cell' to coordinate various proposals from the global community for providing land and building houses as part of the rehabilitation process. Joint Land Revenue Commissioner A Geetha will coordinate the proposals and head the cell.'
