Vinesh had also appealed to CAS in this matter but she did not get success. Now Vinesh has written an emotional post on social media site X and surprised everyone.
Indian female wrestler Vinesh Phogat, who missed the medal due to being overweight in Paris Olympics-2024, has posted a post on Friday and created a sensation. Vinesh has posted three pages on social media site X in which she has told about her journey so far. Vinesh has written in the last paragraph of this post that if what happened to her in Paris had not happened, she would have played till 2023 Olympics.
Vinesh has admitted that she does not know what her future will be but she will always fight for what she believes is right. Vinesh became the first Indian woman player to reach the final of the 50 kg weight category in the Paris Olympics 2024.
When her weight was weighed before the final, it turned out to be 100 grams more and hence Vinesh was declared ineligible, due to which her dream of winning an Olympic medal was shattered. After this, Vinesh announced her retirement from wrestling.
In the post that Vinesh has written, she has also told about her father. Vinesh has written how her journey started and how she reached here. In the last paragraph of this post, Vinesh writes, "There is a lot to say, but words will never be enough. Maybe when the time is right I will talk about it again. On the night of August 6 and the morning of August 7, we did not give up. Our efforts did not stop. We did not bow down, but the clock stopped and the time was not right. My fate too. For my team, for the Indians, for my family, the goal we were working for. It remained incomplete. It will always be missing."
She wrote, "Maybe in some different circumstances, I could have seen myself playing till the 2032 Olympics because I will always have the fighting spirit and wrestling in me. I don't know what the future holds and what will happen next in the journey for me. But one thing is for sure that I will always keep fighting for what I think is right."
After Vinesh was declared ineligible, she appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sports. In this appeal, Vinesh had demanded a silver medal for herself. After a long time, the court gave its verdict which shattered Vinesh's dream of a medal. CAS rejected Vinesh's appeal.
