Video Call facility will be available on X.Com, CEO Linda Yaccarino confirmed the information

Soon after taking over X, Elon Musk announced that he wanted the platform to be an 'Everything App'. In line with that approach, the company has come up with a host of features, including the ability to read/post long texts and watch hour-long videos. The company is now adding another feature video calls.

Talking about other features like creator subscriptions and payments, the company's CEO Linda Yaccarino during an interview with the media said that soon you will be able to make video chat calls without giving your phone number to anyone on the platform.

His confirmation comes a day after X designer Andrea Conway posted. Just called someone on X, followed by the head exploding emoji. At the time, it was not clear to which she was referring: the voice call or the video call, or both.

It will be a direct competitor to Meta's WhatsApp, as X will allow sharing of videos, payments, DM, microblogging, support for video and photo sharing, etc. Meanwhile, Meta recently launched Threads to compete with X and has seen a sharp drop in monthly active users after hitting 100 million sign-ups within days of launch.

Yaccarino also said he enjoys "autonomy" under Musk and added that while the SpaceX CEO controls product and development, his role is to "run the company."

Recently the company has made some changes in the top leadership and the way the company works. A report claims that Musk and Yaccarino will oversee the trust and security team. While Musk will oversee X's product and engineering team, Yaccarino will oversee all other divisions, including human resources, legal, finance, sales, and operations.
