Aryna Sabalenka, the second-seeded women's singles player from Belarus, easily upset Paris Olympics gold medallist Zheng Qinwen of China to go to the US Open semifinals. Sabalenka upset seventh-seeded Qinwen, 6-1, 6-2. In the semi-finals, the Belarusian star will meet Emma Navarro of America, who upset Spain's Paula Badosa 6-2, 7-5 in the quarterfinals.

Sabalenka has reached the semifinals of the US Open for the fourth time in a row. Last year, Sabalenka advanced to the final but lost to local talent Coco Gauff. However, Sabalenka appears to be in excellent shape this time around.

In men's singles, Taylor Fritz of America defeated fourth seed Alexander Zverev of Germany 7-6, 3-6, 6-4, 7-6 to reach the first Grand Slam semi-final of his career. Since 2022, Fritz has lost in the quarter-finals of all major tournaments. But this time he did not make any mistake. In the last-4, Fritz will face compatriot Frances Tiafoe. Tiafoe got a place in the last-4 due to Grigor Dimitrov's retirement due to injury. Tiafoe was leading 6-3, 6-7, 6-3, 4-1 when the match was stopped.

For the first time since 2005, an All American semi-final match will be played at Arthur Ashe Stadium. Then the US Open semi-final played between Andre Agassi and Robby Ginepri lasted for five sets. Fritz has a record of 6-1 against Tiafoe. Tiafoe had once defeated Fritz in Indian Wells in 2016.
