UK PM Rishi Sunak is taking leave for the first time in four years, will spend time abroad with family

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak will take a family leave this week. Downing Street has given this information. Rishi Sunak will be going on a holiday with his family for the first time in 4 years.
The prime minister's spokeswoman did not reveal his destination for security reasons but said he would spend just one week abroad with his family from Thursday. During Sunak's absence, Deputy Prime Minister Oliver Dowden will take over.
Let us tell you that even before this, 43-year-old Rishi Sunak was on a family holiday in Spain for only a few hours but had to return to Britain when Queen Elizabeth II died in September last year.
Sunak's press secretary said the prime minister would take a short break with his family. This is the first time he has done so since becoming chief secretary to the Treasury nearly four years ago. He will be on holiday with his family for just a week from Thursday.
Prime Minister Sunak, his wife Akshata Murthy, and their daughters Krishna and Anushka will be on a week-long vacation abroad from Thursday.
Sunak was appointed Chief Secretary to the Treasury in July 2019, before being promoted to Chancellor of the Exchequer by then-Prime Minister Boris Johnson in February 2020.
In July 2022, he resigned from Johnson's cabinet as Chancellor amid the Partygate scandal, which led to a protracted Conservative Party leadership election and was lost to predecessor Liz Truss.
According to the information received, Sunak is expected to visit India for the G20 Leaders' Summit in New Delhi in September.
