India's Under 19 team defeated Sri Lanka in the second semi-final of Asia Cup 2024. Team India has made it to the final with this win. The team India defeated Sri Lanka by 7 wickets. The Sri Lankan captain won the toss and decided to bat first. The Sri Lanka team was all out for 173 runs in 46.2 overs. India achieved the target of 174 runs in just 21.4 overs by losing 3 wickets. During this, Vaibhav Suryavanshi again batted brilliantly and hit 5 sixes and 6 fours in 36 balls.

Both the openers could not stay on the ground for long and returned to the pavilion at the same score of 8 runs. Sri Lanka suffered another setback at this score and Vimat Dinasara was dismissed on the first ball without scoring a run. After this, Sharujan Shanmuganthan and Lakvin Abeysinghe took Sri Lanka together past 100 together. After falling of the wickets, the innings faltered back and thus Sri Lanka crashed at a low score of 173 runs. For India, Chetan Sharma took 3 while Kiran Chormel and Ayush Mahtre took 2-2 wickets.

Coming to chase the target of 174 runs, team India started off on a good note. In 8 overs, Ayush Mahtre and Vaibhav took team India past 90 runs. After the fall of Mahtre who made 34 runs, captain Andre Siddharth started the charge. Vaibhav fell after making 67 runs in 36 balls with the help of 5 sixes and 6 fours. The remaining task was completed by Mohammad Aman and Kartikeya as the team gave India victory in just 21.4 overs. Team India will now take on Bangladesh in the title match on December 8.
