Twitter closes 2 out of 3 offices in India

Twitter closed two of its three offices in India on Friday. The offices to be closed include those in Delhi and Mumbai, while the social media platform's office in the country's IT hub, Bengaluru, will continue to operate as before. Bloomberg News has published a report regarding this. As per reports, the employees have been sent back from work.
Elon Musk is continuously cutting costs to improve Twitter's financial health. Along with the retrenchment of employees, they are also closing their offices across the world. In November, Musk fired 90% (about 200) of his staff in India. Musk wants to strengthen Twitter financially by the end of 2023. They have also modified some services like Blue subscription to increase revenue. This service is available in India for a monthly subscription of Rs 650.
After the layoffs last year, Musk had a tweet- 'When the company is losing $ 4 million a day, we have no choice but to remove employees. Those who have been evicted have been given 3 months' severance, which is 50% more than the statutory amount.
Elon Musk bought Twitter on 27 October 2022 for $44 billion. After this, Musk fired four top officials of the company. These include CEO Parag Agarwal, finance chief Ned Segal, and legal executives Vijaya Gadde and Sean Edgett. This was followed by Chief Marketing Officer Leslie Berland, Chief Customer Officer Sarah Persnet and Vice President of Global Client Solutions Jean-Philippe Maheu.
Recently, through a video call at the World Government Summit in Dubai, Musk said that making sure the platform can work well is the most important thing for him. “I feel there is a need to stabilize the organization and ensure that it is financially sound,” he said. Regarding Twitter's new CEO, Musk said, "Hopefully by the end of this year we will get our new CEO."
