Delhi Police has arrested a man for falsely tweeting about the Dubai-Jaipur flight hijack. According to media reports, the flight on which Moti Singh Rathore, a resident of Nagaur, Rajasthan, was travelling from Dubai to Jaipur, had to land at Delhi airport due to bad weather.
After all the clearances, when the flight was about to take off for Jaipur, the passenger tweeted with a photo – Flight hijacked…. After this tweet by Moti Singh, the airport administration immediately swung into action. According to the police, the passenger was upset over the delay in the flight.
The incident took place last Wednesday (January 25), when SpiceJet flight number SG 58 made an emergency landing at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport at 9.45 am due to bad weather. Delhi ATC cleared the flight to take off at 1.40 pm after the weather cleared. Meanwhile, 29-year-old Moti Singh tweeted.
DCP Airport said that after getting information about the tweet, the airport authority immediately got involved in the investigation. The flight was checked by all the agencies including Delhi Police and then the flight was sent again. According to the police, the accused passenger was offloaded along with his luggage. In this regard, a case has been registered against the accused under various sections and arrested.
