The brave Doggy Zoom of the Indian Army was martyred on Thursday while fighting the terrorists till his last breath. On Friday, Army officers and their comrades paid tribute to Zoom at the Chinar Corps Headquarters in Srinagar. A video related to this is also going viral on social media, in which it can be seen how army personnel and officers are bowing to Zoom.
Not only this, but Zoom's fellow dogs also bow down while paying tribute to him. After this, at the behest of the officers, the dogs stand on two feet and pay tribute to their brave companion Zoom.
Lt Gen ADS Aujla and other officers were present during the tribute meeting. Zoom, who was critically injured during an encounter with terrorists, died on Thursday at 54 Advanced Field Veterinary Hospital (AFVH) in Srinagar after undergoing treatment for 72 hours. According to the Chinar Corps of the Indian Army, the search operation was carried out on 9-10 October. Zoom was also a part of it.
During the operation, army personnel sent Zoom to a house, where the news of the hiding of terrorists was received. Zoom identified the terrorists and attacked them. During this, he was hit by two bullets. Despite being injured, he kept fighting with both the terrorists, due to which the soldiers killed the terrorists. Two jawans were also injured in the encounter.
Zoom was admitted to the Veterinary Hospital on Monday. He was being treated here for three days. By 11:45 am on Thursday, he was feeling better, but around 12 o'clock he suddenly gasped and died.
The army issued a statement after the death of Zoom. It added that Army Dog Zoom was an invaluable member of our team. Despite his young age of 2 years, Zoom had experience with several terror operations in which he proved himself with his energy and courage. Zoom also played an important role during the operation in Anantnag on 9 October.
On hearing the news of Zoom's demise, there was an influx of people paying tribute to him on social media. People are paying tribute to him by sharing a picture praising his bravery. The influx of fans of Zoom grew so much that in no time the hashtag #RIPZoom started trending on social media.
The video shared by Chinar Corps shows the training given to Zoom. Being a part of the army, the dog has different duties. This includes guard duty, patrolling, sniffing explosives, identifying drugs, etc.
