Tollywood Star Krithi Shetty Tees Off Cybercity Cancer Crusaders Golf Championship at HGA

The 8th Biennial Cybercity Cancer Crusaders Golf Championship, a fundraising and cancer awareness initiative, is set to take place on November 25th and 26th, 2023, at the Hyderabad Golf Club. The event is jointly hosted by Cure Foundation and Apollo Cancer Centres. Tollywood sensation Krithi Shetty, alongside Dr. P. Vijay Anand Reddy, the Founder of Cure Foundation and Director of Apollo Cancer Hospital, Hyderabad, officially launched the championship by teeing off at the Hyderabad Golf Club in Golconda.

The championship's primary objective is to raise awareness about cancer in society through the active participation of professional golfers, prominent athletes, celebrities, and opinion leaders.

Over 300 golfers will participate in the Cancer Crusaders Golf Championship, which spans two days, with sessions on November 25th and 26th. The game format is Stableford, with a 100% handicap.

Speaking at the launch, Krithi Shetty expressed her admiration for Dr. Vijay Anand Reddy and the selfless work he and other healthcare professionals do. She stated, "Doctors and frontline healthcare workers are the real heroes and heroines because they selflessly provide service to patients. We witnessed this even during Covid, while we were protecting ourselves by sitting at home, they risked their lives and gave us life, which is what I wanted to do as a kid by being a doctor."

She continued, "It warms my heart to see your dedicated work, Dr. Vijay Anand Reddy. It inspires me so much. Please continue inspiring everyone, spreading awareness about cancer, and curing these little kids. The greatest gift Dr. Vijay Anand aspires to is the smile on the face of the kid who got treated. There can be no better gift than that. I want more and more people to come forward to support this cause. It doesn’t matter how much you give; it’s all about the love with which you give. That’s the power in your hands to save lives."

Cure Foundation, from its inception, has been committed to caring for children diagnosed with cancer and providing them with free care. More than 1500 children have benefited from Cure Foundation's efforts. The Cancer Crusaders Golf Championship, held biennially, raises funds to support these underprivileged children who need cancer care. The foundation also plays a pivotal role in raising awareness about cancer prevention through various programs and screenings.

The event will culminate with a unique theme-based International Men's Day celebration called "ANANTH" on the evening of November 26, 2023, at Novotel HICC, Hyderabad, where prizes will be distributed to the winners in various categories at the Cybercity Cancer Crusaders Golf Championship.

Dr. P. Vijay Anand Reddy described ANANTH as an event celebrating the spirit of men, offering a fun and unique environment for celebrities to interact among themselves and with the audience and golfers.

Previous editions of the 'Cancer Crusaders Golf Championship' witnessed the enthusiastic participation of several notable figures from various fields, adding tremendous recognition to the tournament. It featured celebrities like Kapil Dev Nikhanj, Nagarjuna, Sania Mirza, Pullela Gopichand, and numerous popular actresses and public figures.
