Time released the list of 100 people in AI 2024, these names from India along with Ashwini Vaishnav and Anil Kapoor

Time Magazine has come up with a list of the 100 most influential people in terms of AI. There are ample amounts of Indian names present in their list. The most renowned name on their list is the CEO of Google and Alphabet Sundar Pichai and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella. Other strong Indian personalities were Ashwini Vaishnaw, Nandan Nilekani, and actor Anil Kapoor.

About Ashwini Vaishnav, Time wrote, "Under Vaishnav's leadership, the country hopes to make a leap into one of the top five countries for semiconductor manufacturing in the next five years critical component for modern AI systems. Construction has started building several factories for this in India.".

Time said, "Vaishnav faces some formidable hurdles in making these dreams a reality. India's tech sector is hamstrung by low private R&D investment and without an advanced manufacturing ecosystem. Its educational system is also falling behind in producing the cadre of experts required for leading-edge AI and semiconductor development."

The list includes Anant Vijay Singh, product head of Proton, along with Rohit Prasad, senior VP and head scientist of Artificial General Intelligence at Amazon.

Anil Kapoor made it on the list for Time "winning a historic victory in the New Delhi High Court in September over unauthorized AI use of his image. Anil Kapoor's win opens the door for others to seek protection of their personality rights."
