Significantly, packets of chips and crisps of expiry date have been thrown on the banks of Govind Sagar lake. Hundreds of packets have also reached the lake. Due to this on one side where the water of the lake is getting contaminated. On the other hand, children are falling ill after consuming expired food items. The administration is not able to crack down on those who throw garbage.
People complained about this to the administration several times, but a solution could not be found. People are angry seeing the poor attitude of the administration. At the same time, Bilaspur's lawyer Suman Thakur has also expressed opposition regarding this serious issue. It has been said that action will be taken against the people involved in the case by taking the help of the legal process. He said that disposing of expired items in the open is a crime under the law.
When EO Bilaspur Urvashi Walia talked about this, he told that a notice will be issued to those who throw chips in the open regarding this matter. Nearby CCTV footage will be scanned. Strict steps will be taken by the city council.
