This MP supported Zepto CEO Piyush Goyal's statements at the Startup Mahakumbh; Know what he said

Union Minister Piyush Goyal's remark regarding Indian startups has fueled the discussion in the marketplace. Not just this, but Zepto CEO Adit Palicha's response to the remark by Piyush Goyal is also in conversation. Still, today the remark by the Union Minister is being supported by BJP MPs. BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal has called Piyush Goyal's comment correct and called Palicha's statement wrong and illogical. 

Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) General Secretary and member of Parliament Khandelwal opined that the issues flagged by the Union Minister regarding the emphasis on Indian startups are accurate. He also stated that Zepto founder Palicha had misunderstood the crux of the comments made by Goyal by becoming defensive.

Praveen Khandelwal hit back at the Zepto CEO's statement, saying that spending foreign capital to eliminate small grocery stores while claiming to create jobs and pay taxes is not innovation. It is against India's long-term interests.

At the same time, BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal said that this negates the essence of the Union Minister's message. Khandelwal said that innovation should serve the nation, not just convenience. We need startups that solve real problems and build foundational technologies to drive India's future.

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal questioned Indian food delivery startups at the 'Startup Mahakumbh' event. He had said that we are happy being delivery boys and girls? Is this the future of India? This is not a startup, it is just entrepreneurship. He also showed a slide titled 'India vs China: Startup Reality Check' and said that on the other hand, robotics, machine learning, 3D manufacturing, and next-generation factories are growing rapidly.

Piyush Goyal's statement was met with reactions from CEOs of many companies. Zepto's CM Adit Palicha was also among them. He reacted to Goyal's statement and stressed his company's contribution, which includes the creation of 1.5 lakh jobs, an annual tax of more than Rs 1,000 crore, and foreign direct investment (FDI) of more than $1 billion.
