He says that both these superstars are responsible for his film being a flop.
Actually, it happened that in the year 1994, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan's film 'Andaz Apna Apna' was released. The film bombed badly in theatres. Now after 29 years, the producer of this film, Rajkumar Santoshi told Aaj Tak that "While Andaz Apna Apna was a completely different story in those days. It has more comedy, adventure and humour than romance. People took the time to understand this film. "
Rajkumar said when the film was released 29 years ago, the distributors were also newcomers. Pointing to the current trends in film promotion, Rajkummar revealed that both the lead actors did not promote the film, "Neither Salman nor Aamir was in town to promote the film."
The director said that he too was shooting elsewhere. He said that there was no activity related to the film. There was no interaction with the media either. The director said, "Whatever was to be done for the promotion of the film could not be done. The distributors were also very upset."
When asked about the possibility of a remake of Andaz Apna Apna, Rajkumar Santoshi said that whoever tries to remake the film will suffer. Santoshi said, "There is no scope to remake anything. The film looks fresh even today. Anyone who tries to remake this evergreen film will be doomed because it is not possible to make such a film."
