While introducing Cybertruck, Tesla claimed that this electric pickup truck is a strong and safe car. The American automaker had also claimed that this electric vehicle has been made so strong that it will become a new standard of safety just like other Tesla cars. Which are considered to be the leaders in terms of safety in their respective segments. However, according to media reports, there was no fatal accident of this EV till now. However, now we have come to know about the first fatal accident of Cybertruck.

A Tesla Cybertruck crashed in Chambers County, Texas. Where for unknown reasons the electric vehicle lost control, went off the road, and collided with a concrete drain. After the accident, the Cybertruck caught fire. The driver of the Cybertruck was killed in this accident.

The cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained and authorities have started investigating the matter. Speaking on this, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the apex road safety organization of the US, on Monday said that it is aware of an accident of the Tesla Cybertruck. And is seeking more information from the electric vehicle manufacturer.

Tesla has had an excellent record of crash testing in the past few years. And many of its electric vehicles are known for top-level safety features. While launching the Cybertruck, Tesla expected the same for the pickup truck. However, the electric vehicle has not yet undergone a third-party crash test. The latest accident has raised questions over the safety of the vehicle. It is worth noting that the Cybertruck was designed taking inspiration from the Blade Runner movie.

Tesla launched the Cybertruck in November 2023 after several years of delays and difficulties in production. The Tesla Cybertruck project was delayed so much and the automaker has to face a lot of criticism for overpromising and underdelivering. After which, talking about the vehicle, the company's CEO Elon Musk said, "We dug our own grave with the Cybertruck."
