Tesla Cybertruck joins Dubai Police patrol fleet, know what is special about it

Dubai Police has recently added Tesla Cybertruck to its luxury patrol fleet. While the Cybertruck was shown in green and white in 2019. Dubai Police on Sunday shared a picture of the electric pick-up truck with its police graphics. Along with the fleet were Mercedes-AMG G63 and Mercedes-Benz G 500 4x4. Manufactured in 2013, the Tesla Cybertruck is a battery-powered medium-capacity vehicle. Which can carry or pull quite a large payload.

Cybertruck has a towing capability of around 5,000 kg and a driving range of approximately 550 kilometers. Tesla offers the Cybertruck in three configurations: Cyberbeast, all-wheel drive, and rear-wheel drive. The Cyberbeast model can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 2.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 209 kilometers per hour. It has an output of 845 horsepower and approximately 14,000 Nm of torque. This assures the car's towing capabilities. The AWD type has a somewhat lower performance, with a maximum power output of 600 horsepower. But it has a maximum driving range of 550 km. While preserving its maximum towing capacity. The RWD variant has a driving range of 400 kilometers and a towing capability of 3,400 kilograms. It is scheduled to be ready by 2025.

The Cybertruck concept was introduced in 2019. And since then, Tesla has maintained its radical yet simplistic styling. It looks straight out of a science fiction novel with sharp angular bodywork and clear grey panels that reflect the car's surroundings. The Cybertruck has a six-foot-long bed in the back. Which comes with a motorized cover and integrated 120V and 240V outlets. Tesla advertises the truck with the idea that it can light up a house with its 11.5-kilowatt power supply during a grid failure. However, the Cybertruck is far from the most radical purchase the Dubai Police has ever made.

The Dubai Police have been known for their image as law enforcers as well as their identity as luxury car collectors. Home to some of the world's wealthiest people, Dubai's streets are never empty of expensive supercars. In a city where such cars are sometimes considered more common to see than taxis, it's no surprise that the city's police force would feel the need to keep a fleet of supercars to catch criminals fleeing at high speeds.

However, the primary reason behind the Dubai Police's supercar fleet is not law enforcement. From the beginning, the fleet was intended to serve as a mobile attraction for tourists. The authorities themselves have stated that these cars will not be used to catch criminals speeding. But rather to patrol around tourist spots around the city, such as the Dubai Mall or the Burj Khalifa. The fleet also serves as PR for the many car expos that are much loved in the city, such as the Dubai International Motor Show.
