Terrorist groups, which were on the verge of extinction in Manipur, are raising their heads again, increasing tension by joining the crowd

The violence that started in Manipur in the month of May is still not subsiding. The situation in the state has become such that terrorist groups, which have been inactive for a long time, have also started raising their heads. An official statement issued on Monday said that terrorists of banned terrorist groups United National Liberation Front (UNLF) and People's Liberation Army (PLA) were among the crowd in which bullets were fired on an army officer in Manipur.

Security agencies have issued an alert regarding terrorists amid the ongoing violence in Manipur. Central security agencies have said that there is a possibility of terrorists joining the crowd during the protest, regarding which a warning has also been issued. In fact, last week the news of an Army Lieutenant Colonel rank officer being injured during a demonstration came to light. The Mira Pabis group along with some people had tried to attack the tribals in Molnoi village of Tengnoupal district. But they were stopped by the Army and Assam Rifles personnel.

Lieutenant Colonel Raman Tyagi was shot in the hand in the clash between the army and the protesters. After which orders for action have been issued against the protesters. The army officer was airlifted from Manipur to Guwahati for treatment, where he underwent surgery. According to official statements, in the last few weeks, groups like UNLF, PLA, KYKL, and PREPAK were reported to be resurgent in the state. At present, UNLF has 330 cadre strength, followed by PLA with 300 and KYKL with 25.
