Telangana BJP President Bandi Sanjay Kumar got bail: Court said - will not threaten witnesses and will not leave the country; will be released today
Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar has got bail in the SSC paper leak case. The Warangal Magistrate Court on Thursday granted bail to the detainee Sanjay on a bond of Rs 20,000. His lawyer Shyam Sundar Reddy told that he will be released after the release order is issued today. While granting bail, the court has given a condition that the prisoner Sanjay will not leave the country, will cooperate in the investigation and will not threaten the witnesses.
Bandi Sanjay is the Lok Sabha MP from Karimnagar in Telangana. He was arrested by the police late Tuesday night in the SSC Hindi paper leak case. On Wednesday, 4 people including the detainee Sanjay were sent to judicial custody for 2 weeks. After this Sanjay reached the High Court for relief. He did not get any relief from the High Court. The court had asked him to file a petition in the local court. Along with this, it was said to hear the matter on April 10.
According to the police, the paper was leaked shortly after the commencement of the State Secondary School Certificate (SSC) board's Hindi exam in Warangal on April 4. The police had made the prisoner Sanjay an accused in this case.
The police claimed in the remand report that Sanjay along with two people had hatched a plan to leak the paper. Police said that this is a case of pre-planned conspiracy. Through this, the accused wanted to spread rumours and unrest among the people.
10 people have been made accused in this case. They were booked under sections 120B (criminal conspiracy), 420 (cheating) and section 505 of the IPC.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a tour of Telangana on 8 April. He will flag off the Vande Bharat train in Hyderabad. The arrest of Bandi Sanjay, just three days before the PM's visit, had heated up the political atmosphere in Telangana. Assembly elections are to be held in the state in the last month of this year.
