Team India was accused of ball tampering; Conversation between Ishan Kishan and umpire leaked
IND A vs AUS A: The Kangaroos won by 7 wickets in the first unofficial Test played between India A and Australia A in Mackay but Team India was accused of ball tampering on the fourth day.
On Sunday's fourth day of the first four-day match in Mackay, India A wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan has been cleared of dissent after an angry argument with umpire Shawn Craig on the field. India A was unhappy that the ball had been changed before play started on the fourth day, prompting a discussion between Craig and the team. Craig was heard telling the India A players through the stump mic, "When you scratch it, we change the ball. No more discussion, let's play, this is not a discussion."
Kishan asked, "So we have to play with this ball?" Craig confirmed it by saying, "You are playing with that ball." In response, Kishan said, “This is a very stupid decision.” To this, Craig said, “Sorry. You will be reported for dissent. This is very inappropriate behaviour. Due to your actions, we have changed the ball.”
Australia A won the match by seven wickets; in that regard, Cricket Australia also released a statement saying that the ball used in the fourth innings of the match was replaced "due to deterioration"; the captains and managers were informed of the decision before the start of play, adding that no further action was taken.
