The company has given this information in its statement late last evening.
During the investigation by the company, it was found that 19 employees were involved in this scam. Out of these, 16 employees have been dismissed and 3 employees have been removed from the Resource Management Unit.
Apart from the employees, TCS has also taken action against some vendors. The company also banned the business of 6 vendors and people associated with them. When the company started investigating the scam, it came to know that these vendors and some employees of the company were jointly committing fraud in their jobs.
The company started an investigation regarding this scam 4 months ago. Even the key manager of the company did not know about the investigation. The company said that it will work to improve its corporate governance. The company also said that this scam has not happened to the company nor will the company have to pay any financial liability.
To prevent such fraud, the company will have to make regular changes in the resource management team and try to improve analytics in supplier management.
The company came to know about the job fraud case in June 2023. At that time, K Krittivasan was the Chief Executive Officer of the company. K Krittivasan took a strict stance on this matter. The company had started an investigation on this matter at that time.
