Talking about the interior of Altroz iCNG, premium leatherette seats have been given in it. Apart from this, the car also has features like a height-adjustable driver seat, automatic climate control, and rear AC vents. The car gets 210 liters of boot space. However, the Altroz petrol has a boot space of 345 liters, which is 135 liters more than the CNG variant.
The Altroz iCNG is the first car in the industry to come with an advanced single ECU. It also has the feature of direct start in CNG mode. About which the company claims that this car offers effortless and jerk-free shifting between petrol and CNG modes.
The company says that the Altroz portfolio is built on the ALFA (Agile, Light, Flexible, and Advanced) architecture platform, which has received a 5-star Global NCAP adult safety rating. Safety in the Altroz iCNG is further enhanced with enhanced features like a micro-switch to keep the car switched off while refueling.
Apart from this, it also gets thermal incident protection, which stops the CNG supply to the engine and releases the gas into the atmosphere as a safety measure. In this car, the twin-cylinder has been placed under the luggage area, which reduces the risk of damage. In addition, the improved rear body structure and 6-point mounting system of the CNG tanks provide additional rear crash safety for the Altroz iCNG.
The Altroz is offering better power figures in the CNG market than its rivals like the Maruti Suzuki Baleno CNG (Rs 8.35-9.28 lakh) and the Toyota Glanza CNG (Rs 8.50-9.53 lakh). The starting price of this car is also Rs. 80,000 less than Baleno CNG. In the case of Glanza CNG, the difference is Rs 95,000. However, the top-end variant of the Altroz costs Rs 1.27 lakh more than the Baleno CNG.
Tata has introduced the Altroz CNG in a wide range of variants and across a wide price band, which should attract a large number of customers. The Altroz also has the facility to start the engine in CNG mode, while its competitors have given the option to start the engine only in petrol mode.
