Amit Banerjee, founder, chairman, and chief executive officer of Tablespace-a managed workspace solution provider died of a heart attack on Monday morning. According to reports, the company confirmed his sudden demise in an official statement.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the unfortunate demise of our founder, chairman, and CEO Amit Banerjee," said the company in a statement. "His impact on the company, its people, and the industry will be lasting and he will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and partners."

Banerjee, 44, was a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the technology and real estate sectors. Prior to founding Table Space in 2017, he worked at Accenture for over 13 years and served as Managing Director of Corporate Real Estate in India.

Under Banerjee's leadership, Table Space grew rapidly. Banerjee played a key role in business planning, negotiations, and asset management. It has raised around $330 million across various funding rounds, aiming for a valuation of $2.5 billion in its upcoming IPO. This funding also includes a significant commitment from Hillhouse Capital.

Table Space saw its revenue climb 35% by FY24. That notwithstanding, the sudden demise of Banerjee is bound to affect the company. In the previous year, another co-founder at Good Capital, Rohan Malhotra died after turning 44 years old. Then, in 2023, another co-founder of Pepperfry, Ambareesh Murthy died at the age of 51 years. Co-founder of Epigamia, Rohan Mirchandani too died of a heart attack last month.
