Swarnim Neema is excited to be a part of Channa Mereya: It’s a different kind of a show, the concept is new and interesting
“I am playing the childhood role of Karan Wahi sir. And, the character is totally different from what I am, so I am enjoying that a lot. This is a new experience for me and I have been learning a lot,” he says.
Swarnim Neema plays the younger version of Aditya Raj Singh (Karan Wahi portrays the adult version of the character) in Yash Patnaik and Mamta Patnaik’s new show, Channa Mereya. The actor liked his part and also felt that the story is interesting and the title is catchy, which made him say ‘yes’ to it.
“I am playing the childhood role of Karan Wahi sir. And, the character is totally different from what I am, so I am enjoying that a lot. This is a new experience for me and I have been learning a lot,” he says.
The promos and the first few episodes of Channa Mereya have been received well. “It is a very different kind of show. The concept is new and interesting. I just hope that the audience continues to enjoy our performance. The show has a big star cast. All of them are very sweet and kind to me. I enjoy spending time with them. The positive vibe we share on the set gets reflected on screen,” adds the actor, who agrees that unique storylines, like that of Channa Mereya, always attract viewers’ attention.
Talking about the changes he has seen in the entertainment industry over the years, Swarnim shares, “I have been working here for the last 6 years and I have seen many changes. The working style has changed a lot and the rules too. Even content has changed. People are experimenting much more now than how it was earlier.”
Daily soaps will always have an audience no matter what. Agreeing, he adds, “People really enjoy daily soaps as it creates interest in them about what is going to happen next. These shows are so popular that the characters become household names, and an important part of the viewers’ life in general too.”
