Sumit Nagal gains in ATP rankings ahead of Paris Olympics reaches this position

Meanwhile, Sumit Nagal, who qualified for the Olympics, has risen in the ATP tennis singles rankings. Nagal climbed to 68th place in the ATP rankings, a career high. He gained five places.
As a result, Nagal surpassed former world number 71 Shashi Menon to take fourth place on the list of Indian players with the highest ranking since 1973. On the ATP circuit, Nagal has been surpassed by Vijay Amritraj (ranked 18th in 1980), Ramesh Krishnan (ranked 23rd in 1985), and Somdev Devvarman (ranked 62nd in 2011).
Nagal's ranking has improved due to impressive results in the recent past and he also managed to qualify for the singles category of the Paris Olympics. Nagal started the year with a win against 31st seed Alexander Bublik of Kazakhstan at the Australian Open. He also participated in the French Open and Wimbledon.
Nagal won the men's singles title at the Heilbronn Neckarcup 2024 Challenger event in Germany in June and the Chennai Open in February. Nagal, currently the best-ranked Indian singles player, has won four ATP Challenger titles since 2023 and Heilbronn was his fourth title on clay courts.
