Student Union Election: Petition for relaxation in age limit dismissed
Student Union Election in Rajasthan: Petition for relaxation in age limit dismissed: Judge said - education is more important than elections in student life
The Rajasthan High Court has not been able to get relief to the students on the petition to give relaxation in the age limit for the students. Acting CJ M M Srivastava said that studies are more important than elections in student life. You are not being stopped from reading. So study well. At the same time, the hearing on the petition for admission by Narendra Yadav could not be heard today.
Actually, due to corona infection in Rajasthan, student union elections were not held for the last 2 years. At the same time, this time voting for the student union election is to be held on 26 August. In such a situation, a large number of student leaders are presenting their claims to try their luck in the student union elections. There are a large number of such students among them. Those who could not contest elections for the last 2 years. But this time his age limit has crossed 25 years. Because of this, he had sought relaxation in age limit from the High Court.
After the decision of the High Court, the hopes of the students who were hoping to participate in the student union elections have been dashed. Student leader Lokendra said- We could not contest the elections for the last 2 years due to corona infection. At the same time, when the opportunity to contest elections came, the restriction of age limit tied us. Which is completely wrong. Just as the government has given age relaxation to the youth in competitive examinations. He should have given concessions to the student leaders also. Seven students including student leaders Sanjay Chech, Narendra Yadav, and Rahul Meena had demanded relaxation in the age limit in the High Court.
Student leader Sanjay Chechi said that I have been working as an active student leader of ABVP for the last 5 years. In the year 2020, the student union was preparing to contest the elections. But due to Corona, elections were not held for the last two years. At the same time, now I am 26 years old. In such a situation, under the rules, I can no longer participate in the student union elections.
