Stone pelting on Vande Bharat train in Bengal: Cracks in gate and window
Stone pelting on Vande Bharat train in Bengal: Cracks in gate and window; PM had shown the green signal 3 days ago
Stones were pelted at the Vande Bharat train in Malda, West Bengal on Monday night. The incident took place near the Kumarganj railway station. According to the information, the train started from New Jalpaiguri on Sunday. Unidentified people started pelting stones at the train near Malda station while coming to Howrah. Due to this the gate and window of coach C-13 got damaged. At the same time, the Leader of the Opposition in West Bengal and BJP leader Shubhendu Adhikari has demanded an NIA inquiry into the incident.
PM Modi flagged off the first Vande Bharat Express of West Bengal 4 days ago. Bengal CM Mamta Banerjee also participated in it. There was tremendous drama at Howrah station as soon as Mamta reached the program. This incident came to light after a few days.
The Bengal BJP has reacted strongly to the incident. The leader of the Opposition has called it a conspiracy of TMC. Shubhendu Adhikari tweeted – This incident is unfortunate. Stones were pelted at the Pride of India Vande Bharat Express in West Bengal's Malda district. Is this revenge for the slogans of 'Jai Shri Ram' on the day of the inauguration? I demand PM Modi and the Ministry of Railways conduct an NIA inquiry into this matter.
Please tell that during the inauguration of Vande Bharat, when Mamta was going on the stage, then slogans of Jai Shri Ram started from the crowd. Along with Mamta, 4 Union Ministers including Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav were also present during the uproar. Mamta got angry about this and refused to sit on the stage. After this, Railway Minister and Governor CV Anand Bose tried to persuade Mamta, but she did not agree. However, later Mamta sat in front of the stage with a chair in the audience gallery. Later he also gave his address.
PM Modi inaugurated the country's seventh Vande Bharat train on 30 December. This is Eastern India's first Vande Bharat train, which will run between Howrah to New Jalpaiguri. The train will run 6 days a week except for Wednesday. It will take approximately 7.5 hours to cover a distance of approximately 600 KM. From Howrah, it will leave at 05:55 am. It will reach New Jalpaiguri at 1.30 pm. The train will stop at three railway stations during its journey. It also includes Bihar's Kishanganj railway station.
This is not the first time that one of the country's VIP trains Vande Bharat has been pelted with stones. Earlier on December 13, stones were pelted on Vande Bharat Express running between Nagpur to Bilaspur. Apart from this, in Bhadohi, UP in 2019, some mischievous elements pelted stones and broke the window panes of a train going from Delhi to Varanasi. In December 2019 itself, when this train was being trialled between Delhi and Agra, stones were pelted at it.
