SRH vs RR Shimron Hetmyer: BCCI has imposed a heavy fine on Rajasthan Royals' explosive batsman Shimron Hetmyer for violating the IPL code of conduct.
After losing badly to Sunrisers Hyderabad in Qualifier-2, the Rajasthan Royals' journey has come to an end. The team played brilliantly in the first few matches of the 2024 Indian Premier League. Explosive batsman Shimron Hetmyer has been punished by the BCCI following this loss. Hetmyer was fined by the BCCI for breaking the IPL code of conduct during play. Even though Hetmyer has reportedly acknowledged his error, BCCI has not stated specifically what went wrong. He is being fined 10% of the match fee as a result of this.
Even in the do-or-die match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, explosive batsman Shimron Hetmyer proved to be a flop. Hetmyer could score only 4 runs even after facing 10 balls. Part-time bowler Abhishek Sharma made him his victim. At the same time, due to middle order collapse, Rajasthan Royals had to face defeat by 36 runs.
According to the press release issued by the IPL, Shimron Hetmyer of Rajasthan Royals has been found guilty of violating the IPL Code of Conduct during Qualifier-2 of the Indian Premier League 2024 against Sunrisers Hyderabad on May 24 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Therefore, he has been fined 10 percent of the match fee.
The press release further states that Shimron Hetmyer has committed a Level 1 offense under Article 2.2 of the IPL Code of Conduct. However, he admitted his crime and also accepted the sanction of the match referee. The match referee's decision for a Level 1 breach of the Code of Conduct is final and binding.
