New Delhi, India : In a world where groceries, meals, and even gadgets arrive at our doorsteps in minutes, waiting 24 to 48 hours for essential medicines feels outdated—and even dangerous. For Rajat Gupta, this gap wasn’t just inconvenient; it was a problem that needed solving.

Mr. Gupta founded his health-tech startup Repill as an initiative to tackle this problem. This new venture promises to deliver medicines within 60 minutes – an industry-first approach, meeting a critical gap for millions who rely on timely access to life-saving medications.

Mr. Gupta’s journey as the founder of Repill began much before and further away from home – in the fast-paced world of Silicon Valley. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Liverpool and a Master’s from the University of California, Santa Cruz. After spending twelve years abroad, Mr. Gupta left California and returned to India. His mission was clear—use technology to bridge critical gaps in healthcare access.

"I started Repill to ensure that no patient must experience the anxiety of waiting for critical medicines. By using technology to solve this issue, we're not only saving time but also potentially saving lives," shares Mr. Gupta. He recognized the stark contradiction between the convenience of instant grocery deliveries and the frustrating delays in accessing essential medicines.

Mr. Gupta’s strong engineering background helped him create the foundation for Repill’s success. He developed Smart Inventory Matching Technology, an AI-powered system that connects patients with their nearest pharmacies, which have their required medications in stock. Through Repill’s innovative platform, customers have immediate access to an inexhaustible inventory of medicines and optimal delivery routes for delivery partners, reducing unwanted delivery delays.

Repill’s impact also extends to local pharmacies by partnering with and integrating them into a digital ecosystem, empowering them to compete with large pharmaceutical chains. This collaborative network fosters mutual growth, ensuring life-saving medicines are delivered faster and more efficiently.

After a successful launch in January 2025 in South Delhi, Repill has gained significant traction with over 1,000 app downloads and 200+ successful deliveries averaging 30-40 minutes. These numbers testify to the market readiness and consumer demand for quick medicine deliveries in India.

Looking forward, Mr. Gupta is working towards scaling Repill to a national level and expanding to Tier 2 and 3 cities, where this need is more crucial. Being a focused strategist, Mr. Gupta has already laid the roadmap for this milestone. Starting with AI-predictive analytics to understand medicine demands and strategic partnerships to create a comprehensive healthcare ecosystem – Mr. Gupta is determined to ensure that no one waits for life-saving medicines anywhere in India.
