Change Maker and Climate Reality Leader Varsha Rajkhowa at COP 29 in Baku Azerbaijan

New Delhi [India], November 18: Born in a defense family, daughter of an Ex-Air Force Officer, this fauji kid started her journey exploring the world at a tender age. Varsha Rajkhowa is an Environmentalist, International Beauty Queen, Miss Scuba International 2016, TEDx Speaker, international model and Climate Reality Leader in India, and now she is attending the COP 29 hosted in Baku, Azerbaijan. Standing strong and advocating about climate change and marine life.

The 2024 United Nations Climate Change Conference or Conference of the Parties of the UNFCCC, more commonly known as COP29, will be the 29th United Nations Climate Change Conference. COP29 is hosted in Baku, Azerbaijan, from 11 to 22 November 2024.

COP meetings primarily revolve around negotiations and debates. The aim is to review progress towards the overall goal of the UNFCCC: to limit climate change.

COP29 Global Energy Storage and Grids Pledge aims “to increase global energy storage capacity six times above 2022 levels, reaching 1,500 gigawatts by 2030” and also includes commitments around enhancing grid capacity “through a global grid deployment goal of adding or refurbishing 25 million km of grids by 2030”. Supporting ocean and coastal resilience, strengthening climate prediction and early warning systems, advancing community adaptation initiatives and promoting ocean-based climate solutions, which could benefit from potential applications of artificial intelligence.

This beauty with a purpose aims to learn from leaders across the globe and voice out for climate change, oceans, and various environmental challenges, as well as how we can brainstorm and bring solutions for making a positive global impact and change. Varsha recently had the opportunity to scuba dive and study the marine life at the Great Barrier Reef in Australia and also conducted an ocean clean up in Sabah, Malaysia, along with her team member Steaffy Shaji, Miss Scuba India 2019, Miss Scuba Australia national director Jeremy Lai, few officials from Marine Research Foundation Malaysia, WWF ( world wildlife fund for nature) and Sabah Tourism Malaysia. Varsha believes small steps and our actions today will definitely bring a positive impact and a wave of revolution for future generations to have a better planet to live on. Let’s together do our bit as every bit counts, and every drop of action will make an ocean of positive change.
