Skoda has introduced the Kushaq Onyx 1.0L TSI AT. It is priced at Rs 13.49 lakh (ex-showroom). This new variant falls between the existing trims, offering new features and automatic transmission accessibility. Let's get to know about the new variant.

The Kushaq Onyx AT is going to be an affordable solution. The Kushaq Onyx AT incorporates some exterior characteristics from the high-end Ambition model. It has Skoda's characteristic crystalline LED headlights with DRLs and front fog lamps with a cornering function. The iconic Tecton wheel coverings and "Onyx" badges remain.

The cabin has received significant modifications, including hill hold control and paddle shifters. The driver has a leather-wrapped steering wheel with a multifunction control panel and chrome accents. Skoda's Climatronic incorporates a touch panel for climate control, which is convenient for passengers. Six airbags are included as standard, putting safety first. The SUV also receives Onyx-themed seats and rugs.

The Kushaq Onyx AT is powered by a 1.0 TSI turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine that produces 113 bhp of power and 178 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Notably, the Kushaq scored a perfect five-star rating in the Global New Car Assessment Programme (GNCAP) crash test for both adult and child occupant safety.

The Skoda Kushaq is based on the MQB-A0-IN platform, which was developed collaboratively between Indian and Czech Republic teams, and designed specifically for the Indian market. The platform prioritizes high localization, with 95 percent locally sourced components, which could potentially translate into a lower cost of ownership for customers.
