The massive Czech automaker Skoda Auto is getting ready to introduce its first electric vehicle to the Indian market today, on February 26. On Tuesday, the automaker will introduce the Enyaq electric SUV, joining the premium electric vehicle market.
It was debuted by the company at the most recent Bharat Global Mobility Expo. The electric SUV from Skoda will first be available as a completely built unit (CBU) in India. On the other hand, Skoda might begin producing it locally based on market demand. Come on, tell us about it.
The MEB platform is the foundation for the Enyaq Electric SUV by Skoda Auto. The Volkswagen ID.4 and Audi Q4 e-tron both ride on the same platform. The dimensions of the Enyaq EV are 1,618 mm in height, 1,877 mm in width, and 4,648 mm in length. Its wheelbase is 2,765 mm. As the dimensions suggest, the electric vehicle offers a spacious cabin, which is different from Skoda's flagship SUV, the Kodiaq, with its two-row configuration.
As far as design is concerned, the Skoda Enyaq comes with an illuminated grille, sweptback LED headlamps, contrast black inserts and aero-inspired alloy wheels along with wraparound two-piece LED taillights, Skoda lettering and a number plate recess on the tailgate.
Skoda Enyaq will come with many advanced features. These include Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), 360-degree cameras, digital screens for the instrument console and infotainment system, and leatherette upholstery in the cabin.
Skoda India will launch Enyaq 80 variants in the domestic market. It is equipped with a single electric motor mounted on the rear axle, which can produce a maximum power output of 282 bhp and 310 Nm. According to Skoda, it can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 6.7 seconds. The battery pack is an 82 kWh unit, which offers a range of over 500 kilometres on a single charge. With a fast charger, it takes only 28 minutes to charge from 10 per cent to 80 per cent.
