The situation on LAC stable, but can change anytime: Army Chief said – 5 out of 7 serious issues with China resolved
Indian Army Chief General Manoj Pandey said on Thursday that the situation along the country's northern borders with China is under control but unpredictable. That is, the situation here can change anytime. He said that we have got success in solving five out of seven very serious issues. Talks are also going on at both military and diplomatic levels.
Although the army chief did not name China in his conversation. He said that they are capable of thwarting any attempt to change the current status of the LAC. For this, they have a strong army and weapons.
Army Chief General Pandey said these things in the press conference to be held before Army Day to be celebrated on January 15 in New Delhi. He said that this time is also special because it is the 75th year of independence.
General Manoj Pandey said- We have decided to make changes in the Indian Army. And this change will happen in 5 domains. Which includes domains like Force Restructuring, Optimization, Modernization, Technology Infusion and Human Resource Management Philosophy.
On the Joshimath landslide, General Pandey said – Minor cracks have appeared in 25-28 army buildings. The troops have been temporarily shifted. If needed, they will be posted permanently in Auli.
There are some cracks on the road believed to be from Joshimath. This has not affected our operations in any way. The work on the bypass road has been temporarily stopped. As far as helping the local people is concerned, we have given our hospitals, helipads etc. to the civil administration so that they can temporarily relocate the people.
On the situation in the Northeast, the Army Chief said – Economic activities and development initiatives have yielded good results. Unlike our Eastern Command, there has been a slight increase in the number of Chinese troops but we are keeping a close watch.
We are keeping an eye on Doklam and all the activities happening there. We also have an army martial arts routine which will help to deal with combat situations. It is a combined form of various martial arts in the country.
Army Chief told- As far as the situation in Jammu and Kashmir is concerned, the ceasefire in February 2021 is going well. But, terrorism and terrorist infrastructure are still getting support from Pakistan.
Gen Pandey said women officers may soon be commissioned into the Corps of Artillery Regiment of the Indian Army. A proposal for this has been sent to the Central Government for permission.
General Manoj Pandey said- Our adversary has tried to target minorities to hide their failure in Kashmir. Army and CRPF have increased their presence in these areas. The investigation has been handed over to the NIA to know more about it.
