Shri Krishna taught Jihad to Arjuna in Gita: Congress leader Shivraj Patil claimed in Delhi

Congress leader and former Home Minister Shivraj Patil have claimed that Jihad was not only in Islam but also in Bhagavad Gita and Christianity. Patil said that in part of the Gita, Shri Krishna has spoken of jihad to Arjuna.
After Patil's controversial statement, the BJP spokesperson has accused Congress of doing vote bank politics.
The biography of former Union Minister Mohsina Kidwai was released in Delhi on Thursday. In the same program, Shivraj Patil said- 'It is said that there is a lot of discussion of Jihad in Islam religion. In Parliament, we are not working on jihad but on ideas.
Patil further claimed that not only in the Qur'an but also in the part of the Gita, Shri Krishna talks of jihad to Arjuna. This is not only in the Qur'an or the Gita but also in Christianity. Christians have also written that they did not come just to make peace, but also brought swords along with them. That is, even after explaining everything, if someone is coming with a weapon, then you cannot run away.
BJP spokesperson Shahzad Poonawalla said that Congress has crossed all limits of Hindu hatred. Shivraj Patil coined the term Hindu Terror. Now he has compared Gita with Jihad. He has said that Shri Krishna taught jihad to Arjuna.
Poonawalla further said that although the Congress party has described itself as a party of 'Janeudhari Hindu', opposing the Ram temple, questioning the existence of Ram by giving an affidavit, saying Hindu terror shows that Congress hates Hindus. Such statements are being made in view of the Gujarat elections. The people of Gujarat will teach them a lesson.
Shivraj Patil is counted among the senior leaders of Congress. Patil hails from Maharashtra. He has been a Member of Parliament from Latur. The seat is occupied by the BJP since 2014. Patil was a minister at the Center several times since 1980. Was Home Minister from 2004 to 2008. Shivraj Patil has been appointed as the Governor of Punjab in 2010.
