Shreyas Iyer Set to Comeback: Team India's middle-order batsman Shreyas Iyer is now ready to return to Mumbai's Ranji Trophy team after recovering from a shoulder injury. This star player from Mumbai will play the upcoming Ranji match against Odisha on November 6.
Shreyas Iyer, Indian team middle-order batsman, has now recovered completely from his shoulder injury. Now he is ready to return to the Ranji Trophy team of Mumbai. It is being told that Shreyas Iyer has become fit after a number of surgeries along with intensive rehabilitation. If reports are to be believed, this star player from Mumbai is all set to boost the Mumbai team in its impending match against Odisha scheduled to be played on November 6th at the MCA Ground in BKC. Iyer's return will be crucial for Mumbai, struggling to climb up the ladder in the points table in the Elite Group A match. He had missing the last match owing to a shoulder injury.
Actually, according to a TOI report, Shreyas Iyer has suffered several injuries in the last few years. Due to the injury, he missed Mumbai's last match against Tripura. However, that match ended in a draw. Let us tell you that due to a shoulder injury, he had to undergo surgery in April 2021, due to which he had to miss several major tournaments including the IPL and some of the T20 World Cup.
Iyer said he has got "smart" with his body work and is balancing his cricketing ambition with the requirement to keep the body flexible. His presence once again would add so much energy to the team and depth to the batting. At the same time, Iyer will try to make a comeback into Team India by performing well in domestic cricket.
The rest of the Mumbai team to play Odisha has, therefore, been retained with the inclusion of Iyer. MCA has given a fitness schedule to Prithvi Shaw, who hence does not figure in the following team sheet. Mumbai are currently fourth in Elite Group A, having garnered nine points from their first three games - a victory, a defeat and a draw.
