Shocking revelation in a new study: Just 8 pegs of alcohol can destroy your brain
People often have this misconception about alcohol that drinking it in small quantities does not cause any harm. However, this is completely wrong. Recent research has proved that even just 8 pegs taken in a week can ruin the brain.

Most people consume alcohol these days. So addicted are people to it that it becomes hard for them to give it up. Especially at parties and festivals, people drink a lot. People think that consuming little alcohol does not make any difference to one's health, instead, some people think it is a means to chill out. But one study that has been released recently has refuted this thought totally.
This study has found that if an individual consumes just 8 drinks in a week, it can harm his brain grievously. It can make his brain so vulnerable that it can cause a weakening of memory, decrease the ability to think clearly, and even pose the risk of contracting deadly diseases like Alzheimer's.
This research has been published in a medical journal named 'Neurology'. This research states that people who drink too much alcohol, that is, take 8 or more drinks a week, have such disturbances in their brain which are directly related to dementia and Alzheimer's.
Researchers examined the brains of more than 1700 dead people. Their average age was 75 years. They saw special lesions and frozen clusters of 'tau protein' in the brains of these people. If you do not know about tau protein, then let us tell you that it is a special mark of Alzheimer's. This is how Alzheimer's is identified.
The researchers collected information about their drinking from the family members of the deceased. The most shocking thing was that the risk of brain damage was 133% higher in those who drank too much alcohol. This risk was also 89% higher in those who had stopped drinking alcohol. The risk was also 60% higher in those who drank occasionally.
It was seen in the research that people who drink alcohol for a long time have more Alzheimer's-related problems in their brain. They die 13 years earlier than normal people. Research author Alberto Fernando Oliveira Justo said that in the research we found that drinking too much alcohol has a direct effect on our brain. It has also been seen to affect memory. He said that people need to be aware of this so that they can save their lives.
