This was informed by the Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on Friday. He said that India and America have signed an MoU relating to critical minerals to keep the supply chains open and promote more cooperation between the two countries.
Piyush Goyal said, "It was our sixth commercial dialogue. This was principally a dialogue on the progress achieved last year. Further development of the semiconductor supply chain, including MoU on critical minerals was the prime issue discussed in the meeting. The meeting also deliberated on clean energy. At the same time, there was a discussion on exploring new areas like tourism."
Piyush Goyal also said, "India and America are working to expand the relationship beyond bilateral by including other countries of the world. Innovation cooperation agreement made a year ago is advancing well, next year we will have the Technology and Sustainability Summit.".
Collaborating with other countries was also discussed. They are also discussing and looking into the possibility of joint projects in areas such as critical minerals in another country, as well as attracting investment from other countries for US-India ventures.
Piyush Goyal also mentioned the 9th CEO Forum. He said that new dimensions of business cooperation, especially technology and investment, were discussed in the forum.
