Savarkar Gaurav Yatra begins in Thane, Shinde also participates

There will be a rally of Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad) in Maharashtra on Sunday. Along with this, the Savarkar Gaurav Yatra of the ruling BJP is also to be held here on the same day. On the other hand, the Savarkar Gaurav Yatra of the Shinde faction of BJP and Shiv Sena started in Thane on Sunday. CM Eknash Shinde also participated in this.
The MVA rally will be held at the Marathwada Sanskritik Mandal ground in Sambhajinagar on Sunday evening. In this, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray, senior Nationalist Congress Party leader Ajit Pawar and Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole will be key speakers. Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Subhash Desai said preparations for the rally have been completed. We have also made arrangements to install devices outside the venue for people to listen to the speech.
He said that there is peace in the city now.
Past events will have no effect on the rally. At least five to six such rallies will be organized across the state. Meanwhile, in a video released on Twitter, Shiv Sena (UBT) MLC Ambadas Danve asked his party office-bearers to assemble for the rally peacefully. He said that there could be an attempt to create a clash between the two communities.
There have been incidents of violence and arson here on the day of Ram Navami. One person died in this. A senior police officer said that security arrangements have been made to ensure that both programs take place without any untoward incident.
BJP's Savarkar Gaurav Yatra will start from Savarkar Chowk, which is just a kilometre away from the venue of the MVA rally.
A BJP functionary said the march, to be taken out in honour of Savarkar and to protest the regular attacks on him by the Congress and its leader Rahul Gandhi, will cover all three assembly seats in the city and end at Ahilyabai Holkar Chowk. Deputy Commissioner of Police Deepak Girhe told the agency, “The routes and locations of the rally and the yatra are different. We have deployed around 300 policemen for both events.
Police personnel tried to control the situation after two groups clashed near the Ram temple in Aurangabad's Kiradpura area on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday. Then a crowd of about 500 people pelted stones at the police and threw bottles filled with petrol. At least 12 people including 10 policemen were injured in this. Seven people have been arrested after the mob attack, while one injured person died in the hospital.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde participated in the 'Savarkar Gaurav Yatra' in Thane city on Sunday. Hundreds of people participated in the yatra. The BJP and the Shinde-led Shiv Sena had last month announced that Savarkar Gaurav Yatra would be taken out in every district of Maharashtra to honour Savarkar's contribution to the country and counter Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's criticism against him.
On Sunday, participants of the yatra wearing saffron caps with 'Mi Savarkar' (I am Savarkar) and other messages written on them paid floral tributes to Savarkar at Ram Ganesh Gadkari Rangayatan Auditorium in Thane city. After this, the journey started from here.
