Samsung has launched its first extended reality (XR) headset, codenamed Project Moohan. The device was showcased with Google's new Android XR operating system, designed for mixed-reality headsets and augmented reality (AR) glasses. The Moohan XR headset will have support for Google's Gemini AI assistant. Samsung Moohan will compete with Apple's Vision Pro and Meta's Quest 3.

This new Samsung headset is named 'Moohan', meaning 'infinite' in Korean. It runs on Google's new Android XR platform, which supports AR, virtual reality (VR), and artificial intelligence (AI) based features. According to Google, this will be the first device on Android XR, which is scheduled for next year. No date or price has been made available so far regarding the launch of the device.

Muhan XR will feature state-of-the-art displays and support passthrough capability, switching between the real and virtual worlds with multimodal input. It also supports the circle to search, view videos and photos on a virtual display, browse on Google Chrome apart from Google TV, Google Photos, live text translation, and immersive view.
